Overland transportation between the two includes the spectacular journey by bus along the oldpack horse route including the ferries across the Lyngen and Ulls fjords. This journey showcases marvelous views of dramatic scenery, much of it coastal country with fjords and plentiful bays with scattered fishing villages. The road follows the cliff edge up and down mountains with wonderful views of the Alps, fjords and red-painted farms below.

This is a first-class hotel, located in the centre of Alta, the actual gateway to the Finnmark region. The hotel has a very central location. All the rooms come with cable TV, a film network, radio, telephone and shower/bath. Half of the rooms have a view of the Altadalen valley and some have a view of Haldé, the oldest Northern Lights observatory. Wireless internet connection. The hotel restaurant "Alta" serves an Arctic menu. The hotel also has a café, bar, night-club and pizza pub.
A very seasonal hotel and impossible to give a star rating! The hotel is completely made from snow and ice and boasts its own bar and ice sculpture gallery along with hotel rooms (though not with shower and WC!). A truly unique experience.

Description: 200 friendly huskies loudly cheer you upon arrival in excellent dog sledding terrain at Kvaløya. A one hour husky ride with impressive views over the local mountains and sea is followed by a hot meal in a Sami Lavvu. Warm clothes provided.

Description: Mini-bus transfer to Camp Tomok (Sami tents and timber cabin in the wilderness). Your dog sledding winter adventure starts with learning how to train and groom dogs. You will get detailed instructions on how to drive a dog sledding team then you drive the dogsled into the white, winter landscapes, through the beautiful valley of Vass, a total distance of 16 kms. The area is totally uninhabited. You will drive in pairs, one driver and one passenger on each sled, with the opportunity to switch places half-way. You will receive a hot meal during the excursion.

Description: Holmen dog Centre invites you on an adventurous husky safari! Drive your own dog sled or relax and enjoy the scenery as a passenger. You travel through the pine forest following the banks of the Alta River or up through Altadalen valley to the Finnmarksvidda Mountan plain. You are served tea/coffee and cakes in their lavvu or outdoors around an open fire. They explain how the huskies (and themselves) train and prepare for the Finnmarksløpet husky race covering 1000 kms - a huge annual event!

Description: Tranfer to Camp Tamok, duration 1 hr 15 mins. Skiing is a Norwegian form of transporation and recreation dating back to the Viking ages. The ski school suitable for absolute beginners. Your guide will teach you the essential technique of cross-country skiing, as well as how to slide down small hills, make turns, slow down, instant stops etc. The purpose of ski school is to give you basic introduction to cross-country skiing, and most of all have great fun on skis, even when rolling around in the snow!
