The journey travels by rail along Norways southern coastline from Oslo to Bergen, via Kristiansand and Stavanger, returning to Oslo via the mighty Sognefjord and including the spectacular rail journeys 'The Flåm Mountain Railway' and 'Across the Roof of Norway'.
A good for first timers to Norway and those who simply love travelling by train.

Day 1
Arrive Oslo. Transfer by airport bus to the city centre.
1 night OSLO - Hotel Bristol **** (BB)
Day 2
Morning departure by rail alongside the Oslofjord travelling via the coastal resorts of Larvik and Årendal.
2 nights KRISTIANSAND - Clarion Hotel Ernst **** (BB)
Day 4
By rail along the southwest coast, via Egersund, to Stavanger.
2 nights STAVANGER - Comfort Hotel Square (BB)
Day 6
Morning departure by express bus northwards island hopping to Bergen. Alternative Route: Express boat along the coastline from Stavanger to Bergen.
2 nights BERGEN - Augustin Hotel *** (BB)
Day 8
By express bus towards Dale and Voss bearing northwards to Vinje then descending to the Sognefjord at Gudvangen. Around the fjord to Flåm. Alternative Route: By express boat northwards along the coastline before bearing eastwards into the Sognefjord. Journey along the fjord bearing southwards into the Aurlandsfjord, an arm of the Sognefjord, to Flåm.
2 nights FLÅM - Flåmsbrygga *** (BB)
Day 10
By Flåm Mountain Railway for the magnificent ascent to Myrdal to join the express train for the journey 'Across the Roof of Norway' crossing the Hardangervidda Plateau to Oslo.
1 night OSLO - Hotel Bristol **** (BB)
Day 11
Transfer by airport bus from the city centre to the airport for return flight to the UK.

Bergen's oldest family-run hotel now managed by the fourth generation. Centrally located in the shopping and harbour area, the oldest part of the hotel was built in Art Nouveau style in 1909, however, since then the hotel has expanded, incorporating old neighbouring houses and building new wings. The hotel has a popular intimate dinner restaurant (closed Sundays) and a lovely 400-year-old cellar bar. All bedrooms are equipped with TV, phone, hairdryer, mini-bar and trouser press Lift to all floors.
Flåmsbrygga Hotell is a brand new accommodation development owned by Furukroa, a lovely restaurant/cafe with a magnificent terrace overlooking the Aurlandsfjord and the daily comings and goings in Flåm. The hotel is of a very high standard and has been built in traditional, log cabin style with a relaxed and informal modern Scandinavian interior. All rooms have a private balcony with fjord view, shower and WC, telephone and TV. Family rooms with separate bedroom and living area also available (price on request). Buffet breakfast taken in Furokroa, next door.
