This holiday combines Oslo and Bergen (Across the Roof

of Norway) with Voss, overlooking Lake Vang.

Voss is situated between the two great fjords Sognefjord and Hardangerfjord overlooked by and amongst snowy mountain tops, valleys and forests, rivers and waterfalls. The village itself overlooks Lake Vang and is actually quite large with a mixture of old and new. Whilst Voss is an excellent destination for tourists it is still a living community with a good selection of shops, cafes, restaurants and local businesses and is an excellent centre for those wishing to explore using the public transport system.

The base station for the Hangursbanen Cable Car is within walking distance of the town centre and from here you take the cable car up to the top of Mt Hangur (660m above sea level) where the café offers a panoramic view of Vossevangen and the surrounding mountains. The restaurant on Mt Hangur is the starting point for a number of way-marked routes and mountain walks in excellent hiking terrain.

Voss's new cultural centre is located in beautiful surroundings by Lake Vangsnatnet, adjacent to the railway station. Attractions include a panoramic film of Voss and art exhibitions and is home to the Tourist Information Office, where you will find walking maps and further information regarding things to see and do.
