Modern meets medieval in the city of Malmö. A refreshing cosmopolitan city which boasts newly designed architectural innovations, showcasing an elegant mixture of old and new as it still holds tightly to its rich and historical buildings.

Leisurely activities fill the city and a visit to Malmö Konsthall, one of Europe’s largest exhibition halls for Contemporary Art provides prime enjoyment. The venue is synonymous with world-class artists, having previously exhibited the works of Van Gogh, Louise Bourgeois and Kandinsky. With its utilization of space and light the hall is also recognised for its architectural features, adding to the long list of exciting visuals displayed throughout the city.

The most recognisable feature of Malmö’s skyline is the ‘Twisting Torso’ which is the tallest skyscraper in the Nordic counties. Tours to the top of this impressive building that maps the entire city can be pre-booked in the summer. The Twisting Torso also overlooks the elegant Örseund Bridge, connecting Sweden to Denmark. Surprisingly it only takes 25 minutes to get from Malmö to Copenhagen, making multi-trip destinations evermore easy.

The toast of Malmö’s beauty is found in Slottstradgarden, where a myriad of rose gardens, hanging gardens and Japanese Gardens await those who enter. Horticultural workshops, theatre and music concerts are also hosted here throughout the year. No trip to Malmö is complete without visiting the Western Harbour, there you can walk along wonderful promenades, make use of the bathing areas and indulge in the restaurants that provide the key spot for enjoying scenic views of the sea.
