Day 1
Arrive Keflavik Airport by air from the UK. Transfer to your hotel.
1 night REKYJAVIK - Leifur Eiriksson **Plus or Reykjavik Centrum ****
Day 2
The day starts with a drive to famous Gullfoss and Geysir. You also visit the beautiful church of Skálholt and the þingvellir National Park, site of the Viking Parliament, before continuing to Reykholt, home of the 13th century poet, Snorri Sturluson.
2 nights BORGARFJÖRDUR - Fosshotel Reykholt (HB)
Day 3
Today you drive around the snæfellsnes peninsular, dominated by the glacier Snæfellsjökull (1446m) made famous in Jules Verne's novel 'A Journey to the Centre of the Earth'. You visit smalling fishing towns, drive through interesting lava fields and on to the town of Stykkishólmur where you take a boat trip around the islands of Breðajförður, home of puffins and the white tailed eagle.
Day 4
You stop at the beautiful waterfalls of Hraunfossar before heading for Skagafjörður where you visit the farm museum at Glaumbær and are introduced to the Icelandic horse. Continue to Akureyri for a sightseeing tour of the town before driving on to your accomodation in the Húsavik area.
3 nights HÚSAVIK - Fosshotel Húsavik (HB)
Day 5
Start the day with a 3 hour whale watching tour from Húsavik, weather permitting. Afternoon is at leisure to wander around the town with the possibilty to visit museums and the church.
Day 6
Visit the waterfall Goðafoss en-route to Lake Mývatn. There is a lush vegetation here and many different species of birds. Some of which are not found anywhere else in Europe. Visit the lava field Dimmuborgir and climb up to the rim of the ash crater Hverfjall. Relax in Mývatn Nature Bath before returning to the hotel.
Day 7
Travel around Tjörnes Peninsula and visit the magnificient waterfall Dettifoss, the most powerful in Europe.
3 nights EGILSSTADIR - Hotel Herað (HB)
Day 8
Tour around Lake Lögurinn, passing the farm mansion at Skrðuklaustur with its large unusual type of house. When conditions are suitable walk up to Hengifoss, one of the highest waterfalls in Iceland at 118m. You will also visit fishing town of Seyðisfjörður.
Day 9
This short wide fjord of Eystri, and grassy fertile valley with a charming fishing village of the same name, is situated northeast of Egilsstaðir. Magnificent colourful mountains and numerous beautful rocks and rare stones to be found here.
Day 10
Vatnajökull, Europe´s biggest glacier, dominates the landscape with its glacial tongues calving into a glacial lagoon. Take a boat trip on the lagoon among the icebergs. Spend the next two nights in Skaftafell National Park.
2 nights SKAFTAFELL - Fosshotel Skaftafell
Day 11
The whole day spent walking or relaxing at Skaftafell National Park.
Day 12
Return to Reykjavík through the fertile meadows and the sandy desert of the south coast, overlooked by mountainous cliffs and glaciers. There are several beautiful waterfalls on the way and you may spot puffins and even some seals.

Take airport bus to Kaflavik Airport for your return flight to the UK.
