Lake Vang, Sognefjord & Nordfjord - three contrasting

areas linked by magnificient scenery.

Voss is a thriving small town with a hub of activity. It overlooks Lake Vang and is situated between the two great fjords of Hardanger and Sogn. Balestrand overlooks the mighty Sognefjord; a dramatic location situated on a promontory of land, with the fjord on one side and a mountain backdrop on the other.

Leon is a tiny villiage which stands at the head of inner Nordfjord against a background of mountain peaks, with their lower slopes heavily coated with birth forests. At this point the river Lo reaches the fjord, having travelled from its source into Lake Loen and along the breathtaking Loen Valley, descending by gentle waterfalls to sea level. The village centres mainly around and below the white wooden church and has a few shops. For walkers, the area is ideal with the main attraction being the easy walk on foot to view Briksdal Glacier, an offshoot from the main Jostedal Glacier.
