Copenhagen is one of Scandinavia's liveliest and

friendliest cities and has been the nation's capital

and seat of the Royal Family since 1417.

Modern shop fronts do not disguise the many gracefully restored buildings that form the old part of the town. Much of this area is now a pedestrian shopping precinct with the most popular being Strøget.

Hans Christian Andersen spent much of his later life in Copenhagen and it is here that many of his 156 popular fairy stories were written. Take a city sightseeing tour to view many of the major attractions including Christiansborg Palace, Rosenborg Catle, Amalienborg Palace (for changing of the guard) and, of course, the Little Mermaid.

Tivoli Gardens, situated right in the centre is far more than just an amusement park. Here you will find beautiful gardens, side shows, cabaret, pantomime theatre, brass bands and many different restaurants. The city's Zoo and Aquarium are open all year and a visit to the Carlsberg Brewery is always very popular!
