Trondheim is a multi-dimensional city, encased by

endless views of the fjord and river Nidelva.

Home to the beautiful gothic Nidaros Catherdral, it lends a sense of travelling through an archetectual landscape landscape of Eastern Europe but turn the corner and you are greeted with pastels of coloured houses, cobbled streets and quaint cafes to rival a traditionally English town. The city's unique array of contrasts make Trondeim a fascinating city to explore.

Days stretch endlessly in the summer as the city escapes the darkness of night, and when the wintry nights do arrive the cosiness of café culture truly sets in. Whether skiing, fishing, boating or a simple stroll is your mode of enjoyment this city accommodates it all within picturesque surroundings, therefore revealing Trondheim as an all-year round holiday destination packed with a strong emphasis on sporting attractions.

Despite Trondheim being Norway’s third largest city there is a surprising balance of wildlife habitation in the city. Otters and beavers can be spotted thriving in the Nidelva and more elusive animals like deer and moose are seen in the surrounding hills made accessible by renting a bike to explore the vast uncharted land that open up to panoramic views of the city.

A trip to the Ringve Music Museum provides a unique medley of musical instruments and rare artefacts from a cast of Chopin’s hand to the worlds smallest violin. A journey through the museum also brings prominence to its setting in a lavish country estate,  surrounded by 35 acres of Botanical garden that boasts nearly 2000 plants and includes a Renaissance garden which inhabits rare medicinal herbs used in the 17th Century. It is no surprise why Trondheim became the first capital of Norway and is still the city where new Kings receive their ceremonial blessing.
