The voyage begins in Bergen and after making several brief calls along the unspoilt coastline, heads across the open sea to the delightful Art Nouveau town of Ålesund.
Trondheim, Norway's former ancient capital city is the next major stop and is a complete contrast with its wooden buildings, including the impressive 18th century Stiftsgården Palace, brightly painted wharves and warehouses and the 14th century Nidaros Cathedral.
Crossing the Arctic Circle is an event to celebrate before approaching the mystical Lofoten Islands and their 'capital' town, Svolvær. The Lofoten Islands have long captivated writers and artists alike with their grandeur and beauty. The voyage continues to Tromsø with its magnificent Arctic Cathedral.

Fly to Bergen and take the airport bus to Bergen City Centre. Short walk to your hotel. Please note: a private transfer service is available on request.

DAY 2
Enjoy a full day exploring the lovely Hanseatic city of Bergen. Those who wish may take the famous 'Norway in a Nutshell' excursion (see details under Excursions) including the Flåm Mountain Railway and the Aurlands and Nærøy fjords. Those who choose to stay with the city have the opportunity to visit the old harbour 'Bryggen' and take the funicular railway to the summit of Mount Fløien for spectacular views of the city. Evening transfer from your hotel to the Hurtigruten Quay for embarkation and departure at 2230.

Enjoy the voyage and some of its 20 ports of call, from the smaller fishing communities to larger towns including Ålesund and Trondheim.

Bergen's oldest family-run hotel now managed by the fourth generation. Centrally located in the shopping and harbour area, the oldest part of the hotel was built in Art Nouveau style in 1909, however, since then the hotel has expanded, incorporating old neighbouring houses and building new wings. The hotel has a popular intimate dinner restaurant (closed Sundays) and a lovely 400-year-old cellar bar. All bedrooms are equipped with TV, phone, hairdryer, mini-bar and trouser press Lift to all floors.
The ships are regular service vessels carrying freight, mail and passengers along the 2,500 nautical miles of coastline from Bergen to Kirkenes. Accommodation is very comfortable and meals are of a high standard. There are four types of ship 'mid-generation', 'new', 'millenium' and one 'traditional ship'.
A lovely, traditional hotel situated right on the pier in Tromsø harbour and within all of Tromsø's main sights. The harbour lights up beautifully in the evening and provides a beautiful plateau for chance sightings of the northen lights! The hotel has a restaurant, cocktail lounge and offers afternoon tea. There is a sauna for guests' use and rooms are non-smoking and accessible through via a lift.

You will drive in pairs, one driver and one passenger on each snowmobile, with the opportunity to switch places half-way. Due to the dramatic topography reduced speed is held during parts of the tour however on flat land and frozen lakes you can speed up! A hot meal is served during the trip.

This winter fjord fishing adventure gives you the opportunity to join a genuine fjord fisherman in his fishing boat on an arctic fjord. You will see different kinds of fish species and learn how they are caught and preserved for delivery. The fjord is surrounded by thousand metre high mountains, the Lyngen Alps, which fall vertically into the sea. You may also spot sea eagles and other arctic ocean birds. The boat is a modern speed fishing boat equipped with toilet, inside dining space and a large life raft. You will also be comfortable outside on deck wearing thermal suits. Hot meal onboard included.
