The inhabitants of Greenland are predominantly Inuit with a population of only 55,000! However, the island also provides a home to numerous animals of the arctic including musk ox, walrus, seal, large whales, reindeer and, of course, polar bears.

When visiting Greenland, most people want to see the icebergs, and the destination to see icebergs is without doubt Ilulissat. The Northern Lights can also be seen from Ilulissat, but in order to have a greater possibility of seeing them, and to experience more of the Arctic wildlife, this winter programme also includes a two nights stay in Kangerlussuaq.

The domestic flight from Kangerlussuaq to Ilulissat is a true excursion in itself as the low altitude provedes a breathtaking view over the Ilulissat Ice Fjord - a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

A selection of optional excursions offer the opportunity to explore each destination by more traditional means - husky dog and snowmobile - providing an insight into the world of polar explorers.
