A trip to Greenland is about seeing icebergs and

there are few better places for this than Ilulissat

or in Greenlandic ‘iceberg’.

Ilulissat is situated at the mouth of the 40 kms long ice fjord which is filled with enormous icebergs produced by the northern hemisphere’s most productive glacier. This unique nature and beauty has resulted in Ilulissat Icefjord being listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List and perhaps the best view of the great ice fjord is during the air shortly before the flight lands in Ilulissat.

Our gateway destination for Greenland is Reykjavik, Iceland’s magnificent capital city. Why not extend your stay in Reykjavik and see something of Iceland too?

To leave the civilized world and enter the Arctic Wonderland of low passes, ice covered fjords where icebergs rise like sculptures is like travelling back in time into the world of the old polar explorers - all you hear is the sound of the sledge moving over the ice and the shouts of encouragement your driver makes to control his dogs. The route will be in the mountains and fjords close to Ilulissat depending upon actual snow and ice conditions. Only operated when snow expected - from early/mid December to late March! You have to be in reasonable physical shape to join a dog sledge tour. Duration: 2 hours.
Price: £150 for 2 persons on the same sledge (£75 per person). Rent of fur clothes and boots at surcharge of £29 per person per day.
