This wonderful holiday begins in Sweden's beautiful

capital city, Stockholm, before taking the overnight

journey by rail northwards into Arctic Sweden.

The overnight train is an adventurous and romantic way of making the lon journey northwards to Luleå. The town enjoys a magnificent location on a peninsula where the Lule Bay meets the Gulf of Bothnia and overlooks a vast archipelago of islands and skerries. It is a lively town with wide streets and a good selection of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. Old Luleå, or Gammelstad, was originally a very small town with a medieval church at its centre, and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A night in the main town is followed by a contrasting night in the forest at Harads, home to the Treehotel and your accomodation for the night.

Kiruna is located in Swedish Lapland, the great Arctic wilderness, and home to the Sami people. Here you have the opportunity to join a variety of optional wilderness based activities including white-water rafting, wildlife watching and dog-sledding (yes, it's possible in summer too!)
