The West Fjords are without doubt one of the most

beautiful areas of Iceland and relatively undiscovered

by tourists

Only six miles of land joins the penninsula to the rest of Iceland and the landscape is very majestic with fjord after fjord towering above shore and sea. The region occupies less than 10% of Iceland's land mass but represents half of the country's coastline - that's more than half the fjords in the whole country!

Isafjörður, the capital of the West Fjords with a population of only 4,500, is beautifully positioned in the middle of Skutulsfjördðr and surrounded by tall, steep mountains. Laugarholl, near Holmavik, in hte eastern part of Strandir region offers beautiful coastline, fjords and mountains. And to enhance this holiday there are a multitude of excursions and activities to take in at your own pace with the freedom of your hire car.

Includes 8 days 4x4 car hire.
